Kalanguka Leah was crowned Miss Uganda this Saturday and as expected social media went abuzz with a lot of discussion on whether she deserved the crown. Both positive and negative comments kept flowing in. However, the negative comments are offensive without any good upshot. Before you go on with character assassination of someone who knows who they are and is standing up for what she believes in (Agriculture). Understand that this year’s beauty pageant purpose was clearly spelt out. They were looking for someone who could promote Agriculture among youth, who majority do not have jobs yet there is a lot of tillable land in the country, thus, the notion of “beauty with purpose.” For a country like Uganda, third world at that, beauty without purpose won’t take us far.
