As am seated in a matatu on my way back to campus I am having a serious debate whether it makes sense letting go of TV. Definitely by my strength it’s impossible but with God I can accomplish anything. Joyce Meyer on her blog once shared that you could have the strength and courage to accomplish something but only God can get it to succeed. TV is a manual but what does it offer especially mainstream TV. Lies, hypocrisy and so many other vices however the word tells me not to be conformed to the standards of this world. See, all things are lawfully acceptable but not all things are good. A line from the song Killa by Lecrae says “She is going to get you eating on some secret Sin…” all in the name of entertainment. If we are to be friends to only those that are perfect, I doubt whether we would have any true friends. Disagreements, fights and all those other issues help build relationships though I cannot withstand saying that it may not always be the case especially if you hold onto those issues. We need to remember that relationships are built and do not just happen. They require continued effort, just like a fire place you need to keep adding fuel for the flame to grow and keep burning. You need to have FAITH that things will work out. I believe to have FAITH requires us to be patient, in this case, with one another. Many times, we are not willing to be patient with other people in our relationships so we demand for answers there and then. Give up your ego and get REAL we all need time. Does it really hurt to celebrate the life of a King who gave up everything to save his people from death? No I don’t think. Save your thought that a Christian is supposed to be acting all spiritual yet he/she is human. We say, the world is gone so crazy but where is the church??? I think the church is spending more time criticizing rather than celebrating the life of Jesus Christ yet in John 10:10, Jesus says, “…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” I believe every aspect of life is worship to our God even the time you spend dancing to a tune that is lifting His name after all that is what people who go out to the club are doing only that in this case they are worshiping the devil. Unfortunately, at different colleges or universities many have lost grip of their future, careers and some their lives in the name of having fun or call it “enjoying life”. Recently I set out to attend a small group meeting that is affiliated to one of the big churches in Uganda. They meet every week at some ones place, usually over a cup of tea and biscuits to pray for each other and learn more about God. This is a chance as well for you to meet other believers and who knows, for the singles, you could meet your future wife or husband at such a meeting. This particular Wednesday I got their quite early and had sometime to engage in conversation with a few of the people that had showed up who all happened to be ladies (sisters). As we talked, came in this controversial yet very interesting subject of how church brothers are TOO slow!!!
